This month, we’re shining a spotlight on another essential part of high-quality care: putting acceptance into action for neurodivergent patients and families. 🧠💛
Throughout April, we invite you to share how you support neurodiversity in care — whether that’s through sensory-aware environments, flexible workflows, inclusive communication strategies, staff education, or tools that help patients feel understood and respected. Swap resources, scripts, and approaches that make care more accessible for individuals with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and other neurodivergent experiences.
To celebrate the members who lead with empathy and adaptability, we’re introducing a limited-time Neurodiversity Nurturer badge. This badge will be awarded to community members who champion neurodiversity-informed care by sharing resources, answering questions, and supporting peers during our Acceptance in Action theme.
How to earn the Neurodiversity Nurturer badge (Apr 1–30):

Earn the Neurodiversity Nurturer badge by doing one or both of the following:
- Attend at least one featured event focused on neurodiversity, accessibility, or inclusive care, and/or
- Contribute 2+ meaningful replies to an Acceptance in Action thread (see list below to get started) or start a new topic aligned with this theme
“Meaningful replies” could include:
- Sharing a workflow, accommodation strategy, or checklist that supports neurodivergent patients
- Offering a thoughtful response to a peer’s question about sensory needs, communication styles, or flexibility in care delivery
- Posting templates, scripts, intake questions, or staff training resources that others can adapt
- Describing a de-identified example where adapting care for neurodiversity improved access, comfort, or outcomes
🔐 Reminder: Please keep all examples de-identified and avoid sharing any PHI or patient-specific details.
Let’s make April a month where our community turns awareness into action—sharing practical, compassionate approaches that honor different ways of thinking, communicating, and experiencing care. 💛
