Question

eRx (history and coverage)

I wanted to see if anyone has been able to pull history and cost/coverage information in eRx without manually entering each patient’s insurance.  I am the only provider and have a large quantity of patients with no time to enter each person’s insurance in eRx platform (which was customer service’s suggestion).  The couple of people I have done this for still didn’t provide any information as most of their cards do not have all the Rx benefits numbers needed.

Hi @rebecca.ruppe

Thank you for reaching out.

To clarify, health insurance information does not pull directly from the EHR into Ensora E-Rx (NewCrop) and should not be manually entered in Ensora E-Rx, provided the client's demographic information is entered correctly and matches the information available through Surescripts.

For patient coverage information to be returned successfully, the following details must match exactly between the client's record and the insurance carrier's records:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • ZIP Code
  • State

Simply accessing Ensora E-Rx (NewCrop) triggers an eligibility check. If coverage is found, you should see the patient's health plan displayed in the upper-right section of the screen, just above the default pharmacy. To view additional coverage details, navigate to:

Patient Details > Coverage

You can also review this article for additional information:https://experience.ensorahealth.com/eprescribe-145/view-patient-coverage-2854?tid=2854&fid=145

If the health plan is not being returned and all demographic information has been verified, please use the Report a Bug option located in the upper-right corner of Ensora E-Rx. When submitting the report, please include the patient's actual health plan information so the team can investigate further.
