Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) FAQs

See Organization - Manage MFA and Staff - Complete MFA Prompt for more information.

What is Multi-factor authentication?

  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) enhances the security of your online accounts by adding an extra layer of protection. Rather than relying solely on a password, MFA requires you to verify your identity by entering a unique code sent to your email.

How does MFA benefit me?

  • Enabling MFA adds an extra layer of security to your account, helping to protect sensitive information and keep your data safe from unauthorized access. It’s a simple step that provides powerful protection.

Am I required to turn on MFA?

  • Nope! MFA is an optional setting that administrators can turn on at your organization. MFA can be required for all staff members, or can be turned on for specific staff members.

How often can I require my staff to authenticate?

  • You can require your staff to authenticate as frequently as every login (by setting the frequency to 0 days) or at intervals of up to 7 days. This allows you to choose the level of security that best fits your organization's needs.

What can I do to prepare my staff for MFA?

  • Ensure they have access to the email address associated with their login and have been receiving emails from the system. If they are not receiving emails, please reach out to our support team for assistance.

Can my staff enable MFA themselves?

  • No, staff members cannot enable MFA themselves. Only administrators have the ability to turn on MFA for a staff member.

Can I use MFA if my organization uses SSO?

  • No, it is not possible to enable both features at the same time. Currently, you can choose to have either MFA or SSO enabled.

What happens if I’m locked out of my account from too many failed MFA attempts?

  • If you're locked out of your account due to too many failed MFA attempts, it will automatically unlock after 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can contact an administrator at your organization or reach out to our support team for assistance.
