I would appreciate some insight in how best to optimize collecting payments from patients for multi-disciplinary clinics. Currently, our process is to put the copay, coinsurance, or deductible amounts in the patient alert in Fusion, run a report each morning with the patient alerts, and a remote employee charges cards on file at the end of the day. This is a lot of manual work, and we are looking to optimize this process to make it more automated. Also, since we charge the patient payment at the time of service in the billing account instead of taking payment in the co-pay field, the patient payment is not connected to the claim.

Is anything in the works for being able to text an invoice instead of emailing it to the client with the ability for them to pay from the link?

Optimizing Fusion for correspondence --

Fusion email messages: We would love the ability to add an attachment (other than what we can send directly from the patient’s record) to an email message sent to a patient through Fusion’s “Messages”.

Fusion Patient Portal: We’d also appreciate the ability to send a document, such as a new policy form to sign, to all active clients through the Patient Portal link—rather than sending to patients one by one.

I have a couple Billing function requests

Organization:

Can we upload billing related documents to the Notes section of the patient’s billing account?  My billing person should not have to dig through medical records, intake forms etc to access uploaded billing - related documents ( benefits, authorizations, records requests, etc...)

Claims Projects:

Can we view a group of claims for research/ investigation? Currently, If I need to look at all PT claims for a single patient for a certain time span, I have to click on Claims in their billing account, scroll all the way back to that date, open the claim, investigate it, hit the back arrow, click Claims again, scroll all the way down to the next date, and on and on. I should be able to filter claims by service and date and then pull the ones I need to compare without having to back all the way out to the main Billing Account page for that client.

Some Insight Report requests:

Schedule

Can we make the schedule Appointment Presets searchable/ findable for insights? For clinics that pay per-visit or per-hour, it would be helpful to be able to pull insights by pre-set so that we can track, not only treatment type, but also other types of hours ( marketing, projects, mentoring, reimbursements).

Does Fusion have an insight that enables us to track rescheduled visits for attendance? This would allow us to see how often a patient is canceling/ rescheduling and what attendance looks like for that specific client. Currently we have to manually calculate this from the pt appointments tab in their chart and this list does not identify a reschedule from a normal visit.

Authorizations /visit max Tracking Question:

Is there a reminder/ alert for when visit caps are approaching or when Insurance effective end dates are approaching? Can there be?
