Why is ID.me replacing Exostar?

  • To enhance security and simplify the authentication process, ID.me will soon replace your current Exostar token for electronic prescribing. This change ensures compliance with updated identity verification standards while offering you greater flexibility and ease of use.

 

Will this change affect how I prescribe?

  • No, this change only affects the way you authenticate your identity when prescribing. The prescribing process itself remains the same with no extra steps or additional charges.

 

What do I need to do to get ready?

  • To avoid any interruptions to your prescribing services, please complete the following steps:
  1. Create or sign in to your ID.me account: https://www.id.me
    • If you already have an ID.me account, you can continue using it. However, please ensure that your work email (the email associated with your Ensora login) is added to your ID.me profile so the connection with Ensora can be completed.     • If you have multiple ID.me accounts, you will need to contact ID.me Support to merge them into a single account before proceeding.
  1. Link an authenticator (we recommend Passkey.)
  2. Complete the identity verification process.

    When prompted by the system, simply sign in with ID.me to continue prescribing seamlessly.

Can I use multiple authenticators?

  • Yes! You can set up multiple authenticators for different devices. For more details on managing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), visit this ID.me guide.

    If you need more than one token or want a backup token, you can set up additional devices with an authenticator app. However, we strongly recommend only setting up authenticators on devices that belong to you and are secure. Avoid using shared or public devices for authentication.

 

Do I need any special equipment?

  • Yes, you will need access to a smartphone since physical tokens (such as the Exostar token) will no longer be used.

    You can choose from several authentication apps:
  • Authy
  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • ID.me Authenticator app

    Pick the one that works best for you!
     

What if my identity verification fails?

  • If your documents are not validated by ID.me, please:
  1. Try the verification process again.
  2. If issues persist, contact ID.me Support directly for assistance.

    Once verification is complete, you will be able to link your account with Ensora and continue prescribing without issue.

    If you have completed your ID.me setup but receive an "E-RX Connection Timed Out" error when attempting to link ID.me with Ensora, please contact Ensora Support for further assistance.
     

What should I do with my old Exostar token?

  • Once you are prompted to verify your identity with ID.me, your Exostar physical token will no longer be linked to your account. You may safely discard the token at that time.

 

How do I complete the process of linking ID.me with Ensora?

  • To complete the process of linking ID.me with Ensora, please follow these steps:
  1. Click on the Pill Icon
  2. Click on Any Color Box

    This should take you to the Ensora E-RX EPCS Registration Menu. If it does not:
  • Click on the Pill Icon
  • Click on Any Color Box
  • Go to the Admin Menu at the top
  • Scroll down to EPCS User Controls
  • Select EPCS Registration Menu

Then:

  • Click on Verify with ID.me
  • Sign in using your ID.me credentials and authenticator
  • Once successful, you will see a confirmation message and you will be ready to start prescribing
