Before You Begin
- Only the therapists listed on the appointment can join a teletherapy session from the calendar.
- A session can't be started more than 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
- Once a patient has connected, the therapist must admit them from the waiting room before they can join the session.
Join a Session as a Therapist
- Go to Schedule → Calendar.
- Hover over the teletherapy appointment.
- To the right, click the tab with the video camera icon.
- Next to Teletherapy, click Join Session.
Join a Session as a Patient
Patients or caregivers can join a teletherapy session from the scheduled appointment email, from the appointment reminder email, or from the patient portal.
From the Scheduled Appointment Email
When the teletherapy appointment was created and saved on your calendar, an email was sent to the patient's primary contact and any contacts that receive email reminders.
- If the appointment is not part of a series, they can click the Join the session button in this email.
- If the appointment is part of a series, they can click the Join the session button to join the first appointment. They can join future appointments from the emailed appointment reminder or by logging in to the portal.
From the Appointment Reminder Email
If your clinic has the appointment reminders feature, contacts with appointment reminder emails turned on will receive an email 24 hours before the start time of the appointment. They can click the Join the session button in this email.
Links to join teletherapy sessions are not included in appointment reminders sent via text.
From the Patient Portal
Patients and caregivers can also join a teletherapy appointment from the patient portal. They can click the notification that appears on their dashboard 10 minutes prior to the start time of the appointment.
