Large organizations with several sites on one data base have requested a mechanism to associate a service with particular facilities or clinics.

This feature was introduced in the last patch. The SERVICE MASTER is at the MASTER level so all sites can use the services without the need to duplicate services from one site to the next. However, some sites are totally different or have different gross rates and don’t want a user to accidentally choose the wrong service. The default is all services are available to ALL sites. To change a service so only selected sites can search for, or see a service, navigate to OPTIONS>SERVICES>SERVICES.

Once in the SERVICE MASTER screen, one would find the service number desired and select

UPDATE F/5.

This activates the SITES COVERED button.

As mentioned before, the default is ALL sites are Included. If only site TEST 1 will use the service selected, one can un-check the other two sites. If there are many sites, one can select NONE which will removed all the checks and then just check the ones desired. If at some point most or all of the sites were unchecked, one can also select ALL and this will put a checked on ALL the sites.

DONE will take the user out of this screen and back onto the SERVICE MASTER screen. You MUST press SAVE/F1 to save the covered site settings.

Note the box below the SITES-COVERED field. In this picture, the description reads, INCLUDES THIS SITE. This tells the user highlighted service is available for this site. Some of the other verbiage will read

ONLY OTHER SITES, letting the user know the selected service is not available on this site.

NO SITES, letting the user know the selected service is not available for any sites.

If a service is not set up for the current site, the F3 SERVICE look up found on screens such as CHARGE ENTRY will not display the service so the user can’t select it.

In the example below, service number 317 is not available at this site. Once the OK/F1 button is selected, the user will see the second picture to the RT. Notice service number 317 is not available for the user to select.

If a user enters a service number not available for that site, they will receive a message letting them know this service is not for this facility.
