When your Live instance of eCR is upgraded with the 2.29.0.x or 2.30.0.x Hotfix for Power BI, the process of extracting your Power BI Data Files has changed slightly. The data files downloaded from eCR will now be transferred to the destination folder in a .ZIP file. This file will need to be “unzipped” for Power BI to read the data files.
Please follow the below steps to properly refresh your Power BI data.
- Within eCR, from the “Power BI File Retriever”, download your DATA FILES to the correct File Path as you did before.
- Once the Power BI data files have been downloaded, navigate to the folder that was the Power BI destination folder for the downloaded files. You will see that a ZIP folder is now in the destination folder, possibly along with your previously downloaded Power BI .csv files.
- You will then “right-click” the ZIP folder, and select “Extract All”.
- This will present you with a window to choose where to extract the ZIP’d files to. You will need to delete the last section of the location in the Files will be extracted to this folder field to send the files to the original file path.
- A window will present stating that there are already files with the same name (if you had previously downloaded Power BI .csv’s in the folder). You will want to select “Replace the files in the Destination”. This will replace the old .csv’s with the new ones.
- Then proceed to “Refresh” your Power BI file with the new downloaded and un-zipped data files. First, make sure your Power BI is set to look at the same folder path. Then you can “Refresh” the data.
