Patient Portal Access - Admin

The Patient Portal Admin is the user-facing side of the Patient Portal that allows a user to perform several actions for and with patients. The Patient Portal Admin is accessible in Patient Details > Patient Portal Admin tab.

For all access levels that will need permission to access the Patient Portal Admin tab, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Administration > Access Levels.
  2. Select an existing access level or create a new access level.

  3. Select the 3rd User Access tab.
  4. Check the box for Connect EHR > View.
  5. Save and repeat for each access level that will need permission to access the Patient Portal Admin tab.

Patient Portal Access - Patient

For a patient to access the Patient Portal, a user in eCR must initiate the process and provide the patient with a set of instructions on how to access the Patient Portal.

  1. Go to Patient Details > Patient Portal Admin tab.
  2. Click Create this user.

  3. You will be provided with the patient’s portal ID and a set of instructions to provide to the patient n how to access the Portal.

  4. Click Print Patient Instructions. and then select the print option to provide those instructions to your patient.

  5. Click Print to provide those instructions to your patient.

  6. Once the patient navigates to the provided website, they will need to click Activate Account.

  7. The patient will enter the requested User Confirmation information:
    • The 6-digit Patient Portal ID provided in the instructions.
    • The First Initial of your First name.
    • The First Initial of your Last name.
    • The Patient Date of Birth in the following format: MM/DD/YYYY.

  8. Click Confirm.
  9. After successfully identifying themselves, the patient will be prompted to create their login information.

  10. Click Save.
  11. Once the patient has successfully set up their credentials, they here to go to the main login webpage and can then immediately log in.
