Permissions Required: Clinic Staff must have Administrator, Clinical Director, PTA, Staff Therapist, Therapy Student, or Therapy Technician assigned in order to manage some of the features of the Flow Sheet.
Alternating Timing Algorithms
By default, the system uses the Rule of 8s as defined by CMS. In talking with various therapy owners we know that this rule is not necessarily followed when billing non-CMS payers. Currently, there is one other time rule defined on the Flow Sheet and it is called Per Code Grouping. This algorithm applies the Rule of 8s to each code instead of to the entire charge set. For example, if you have 8 minutes of Therapeutic Exercise and 8 minutes of Manual Therapy you will end up with 1 unit of each. Under the CMS rule of 8s you would only end up with 1 total unit.
