PERMISSIONS REQUIRED: In order to Seal a Note, you must have the function turned on in your Staff Profile. Contact your Location or Assigned Administrator, or Location or Assigned Supervisor to enable this action for you.
You may choose to Seal a Note to provide extra protection of Mental Health Records that falls under HIPPA Regulations to protect a Patient/Client's privacy. Please provide the reason the records must be kept private, and that the reason is compelling and shows that you would face serious consequences if your records were released.
IMPORTANT: Once a Note has been Sealed it cannot be undone by any ShareNote Community role or access level.
- Locate and open the Note that you would like to Seal.
NOTE: You can only Seal a Note that has been signed and locked.
- Click Seal Note under the Note Actions section.
- A pop-up will appear confirming if you would like to continue with Sealing your Note. If you confirm this action cannot be undone and will be captured in the Note History.
