PIE: Create PIE Note

The steps below outline how to create an individual PIE Note.

Create PIE Note

  1. Hover over the Note Center tab in the navigation bar, hover over PIE Notes, then select Create New Note from the drop-down. 
  2. Select Create a PIE Note for Single Client.
  3. Select Service Date.
  4. Choose Client Name.

Enter Required Note Information

All areas marked with a red asterisk are mandatory fields.

  1. Click on the carrots to review the Client Requirements Outstanding, Service Authorizations, Most Recently Created Note and Diagnosis List.

    Note: Your notes automatically save as you work.

  1. Use the Service Type drop-down to select the appropriate service type.

  1. Use the Direct/Face-to-Face? drop-down to indicate if this was a face-to-face session.
  1. Select the appropriate Location Code from the list.
  1. Select the Start and End Time of the session.
  1. Select Shift/Duration of Service - These are predetermined by your organization's Administrator.
  1. Click Add New Goal to add an additional Goal from here.

  1. Select Purpose of Contact from the Goals listed. 

    Note: If no Goal is listed, add a new goal in the drop-down above.

  1. Select Intervention/Activity if Interventions are present in Treatment Plan.
  1. Click Add Selected Intervention above to Box Below.
  1. Enter Intervention and Effectiveness/Progress Assessment in fields provided. You can use the Word Bank to assist in writing your Note.

Sign and Submit Note

  1. Check the I Agree to the terms of the Attestation Statement box.

  1. Enter your PIN number to apply your electronic signature.
  1. Click Submit Note. A green Note Submitted Successfully bar will display to confirm that your note was submitted. 

    Important: If you do not see green confirmation, scroll to find required fields that were missed or entered incorrectly.
