Analogy

A bottle is taken off the shelf (from inventory) it is in your possession and (effectively) LOCKED. No one can dispense or alter the contents of this bottle except you. In other words; the first person to pick up the bottle, is the only person with control.

Situations

  1. Open inventory screen- The user has all bottles locked for everyone at the specific location until inventory screen is closed.
  2. Open inventory screen, trying to open dispense window, inventory screen was not closed- The user has all bottles locked for everyone at the specific location until inventory screen is closed. You can NOT dispense.
  3. Open dispense window- The bottles assigned to your location and window are locked and only accessible to you. You are the only person who can currently edit the contents of the bottle (with appropriate permissions) using the medication inventory screen.
  4. Open dispense window and then open inventory screen- The bottles assigned to your location and window are locked and only accessible to you. You are the only person who can currently edit the contents of the bottles assigned to your window, not assigned to another window or user (from the same location).
  5. When opening medication dispensing admin screen from the dispensing window- Since you were the one to open the admin screen from the medication dispense screen, you have the bottles (for your window) locked and can use the admin screen.
  6. When opening medication dispensing admin screen from Administration (menu bar)- The bottles are locked for a particular window/location until the medication dispensing screen is closed by the user who is currently accessing that location’s window.
  7. Open medication dispensing admin screen while inventory screen is already open- The bottles are locked by whoever opened it first.
