PERMISSIONS REQUIRED: Clinic Staff must have Administrator, Billing Assistant, Billing Manager, Clinical Director, Front Office, Operations Manager, PTA, Staff Therapist, or Therapy Student assigned in order to manage some of the features in Charges & Documentation.

Managing all of your cases is a critical function of any practice. We have created the system to not only be easy to use, but also allow any therapist to be able to sit down and with very little instruction be able to complete an evaluation or a daily note. We have designed the actual documentation to be as customizable as possible. This series of introductory articles will cover the essential aspects of the Charges & Documentation with the system.

Validating Charge Codes

Charges are validated any time the Validate Charge Set is chosen from the menu. The system will then process the charge set through the Charge Validation system, which includes LCDs, CCI Edits, as well as additional specific charge rules which may be customized for your clinic.

Charge validation enforcement may be set to occur in one of three ways: Optional, Auto Validate, and Auto Validate Strict.

Validation Enforcement

Optional

Charge validation is purely voluntary on your part. You must select Validate Charge Set from the menu in order for the charges to be validated.

Auto Validate (Default)

Charge validation occurs every time charges are applied. If charges do not pass validation you are prompted with a message with the option to ignore or review the charges.

Auto Validate Strict

Works the same as Auto Validate but does not allow you to apply the charges unless they pass validation.

The validation enforcement may be set in General Information > Global Settings.
