Adding Charges: Charge Code List

Permissions Required: Clinic Staff must have Administrator, Billing Assistant, Billing Manager, Clinical Director, Front Office, Operations Manager, PTA, Staff Therapist, or Therapy Student assigned in order to manage some of the features in Charges & Documentation.

Fusion Enterprise understands that managing all of your cases is a critical function of any practice. We have created the system to not only be easy to use, but also allow any therapist to be able to sit down and with very little instruction be able to complete an evaluation or a daily note. We have designed the actual documentation to be as customizable as possible. This series of introductory articles will cover the essential aspects of the Charges & Documentation with the system.

Charge Code List

Now that we have a few codes added lets look at the charge code list on the left.

The top contains some information on the currently selected visit, while the list of selected codes is aligned below.

While rare it is sometimes required to have fractional units. If a fractional unit is required you may hold down shift while clicking on the + or to add or subtract fractional units. 

NOTE: The feature is disabled by default and must be enabled first.

Right-clicking on a charge in the Charge List presents the following menu:

Charge List Menu

Edit

Opens up the edit dialog for the charge that you right-click on. This allows you to set POS/TOS, diagnoses, and add additional modifiers.

Validate Charge Set

Validates the charges against the Charge Validation rules.

Add Last Charge Set

Copies the charges from the previous visit to the current charge list.

Add to Favorites

Adds the current charge list to a new Favorites list.

Clear Charges

Clears all of the current charges for this visit.

Apply

Applies the charges to the current visit. Ignores any validation.

Cancel

Cancels the menu.

When editing a charge you will be presented with the following dialog:

You may enter additional modifiers, in the format of XX-XX-XX where XX is the modifier, change the default PoS and ToS, and select which diagnoses go with the selected code.
