Diagnosis (ICD 10) Codes - Diagnosis Insurance Manager

Administration > Access level permissions > User Access 2nd tab > ICD 10 are required in order to be able to make these changes.

The Diagnosis Insurance Manager allows you to narrow down the list of diagnosis codes that can be billed to a given insurance. In doing this, the result will be that your staff will only be able to choose from diagnosis codes that are billable to that insurance, reducing the possibility of billing errors.

Make a Diagnosis Code Unacceptable for an Insurance

1. Go to Administration > ICD 10/ DSM 5 > Open Diagnosis Managers > By Insurance Manager.
2. Select from the drop-down menu the Insurance in which a diagnosis will be unacceptable when billing to this insurance.
   
   
    
3. Search for the diagnosis code you wish to make unacceptable by name.
   • As you begin typing the name, the codes in Diagnosis Not Excluded will get smaller.
   • You may select to Search by Code rather than by name.
4. Select the diagnosis code you wish to make unacceptable by left-clicking on the diagnosis code in the table.
   • The selected codes row will highlight blue.
   • To select multiple codes at once, hold the Ctrl-key and select each code.
   • Click Select All to select all the diagnosis codes in the Acceptable Primary Diagnoses list.
5. Click Add Selected.
   
   
    
6. The diagnosis codes will now appear in the Unacceptable Primary Diagnoses list signifying that these codes can no longer be selected as Primary for the given Program Diagnosis Category.
7. Click Save.
   
   

Remove a Diagnosis Code from the Unacceptable List

1. Select from the drop-down menu the Insurance in which a diagnosis is unacceptable when billing to this Insurance.
   
   
    
2. Select the diagnosis code you wish to make acceptable by left-clicking on the diagnosis code in the table.
   • The selected code’s row will highlight blue.
   • To select multiple codes at once, hold the Ctrl-key and select each code.
   • Click Select All to highlight all the diagnosis codes in the Unacceptable Primary Diagnoses list.
3. Click Remove Selected..
   
   
    
4. Click Save.
   • You should see Save Successful in the bottom right corner.
   • The removed diagnosis code(s) will appear in the Diagnoses Not Excluded List.
