The purpose of adding a Note is to allow information related to a patient to be shared between staff members with access to the patient’s demographic (Patient Details) and those who can see the patient’s chart. If there is a Note without the Action taken box checked it will appear in ORANGE when scheduling and on the patient’s chart. Below are the steps that someone would take to add a note, and what you will see when checking in the patient.

  1. Go to Day to Day 🡪Patient Details and start typing the name of the patient you would like to add a Note to (There are several ways to get to Patient Details, this is one way to do so).

  2. Once you select the patient, click on the Notes button.
    • You may have to select the down arrow if the screen is not wide enough.

    • If there is a (1), there is one note that has been acted upon.

    • If the button is orange, there is a note(s) that have NOT been acted upon.

  3. Enter your note/information and click the OK button.

    • As long as there is at least one note that has not been Acted Upon the button will be orange.
  4. At the top of the patients chart you will see that the Notes button is orange.

  5. For any patients with Notes that have NOT been acted upon, after you select them from the search list in the Scheduler (In this case it is Adam Sapple) you will see the Notes button.

    • To open the note, click on the Notes button (Procedurally you must determine if you are to click on the Action Taken check box if the requirement has been satisfied and/or you are to respond or update the message).
    • Place a check in the Action Taken check box and click OK to act upon the note.

  6. Once the Note is Acted Upon, the Note button will disappear from the Scheduler.
