The system provides users the ability to print claims from the Claims Manager.

The following tips can be helpful when initially setting up a new printer or troubleshooting alignment issues.

To support printers from a variety of brands, we include the ability to offset printing both vertically and horizontally, and multiple offset 'profiles' can be saved in the system.

Q: Which way do the offsets move things?
A: Horizontal = Right & Vertical = Up

Q: Can you reverse offset?
A: Yes! Simply add a negative "-" dash to the left of the offset value.

Q: What is the unit of measurement for these offsets (mm/cm/inches/etc.) ?
A: It depends on the particular printer you have, so there is no defined unit of measurement.
If claims do not print correctly, we recommend offsetting by small amounts to gauge how the printer handles these inputs.

Q: How can I calibrate my offsets without wasting a bunch of (expensive) claim forms?
A: Keep a blank CMS 1500 claim form handy, then adjust your alignment settings and print on plain white paper. Overlay this printed paper on the blank 1500 form and then hold them up to gauge alignment - this works nicely since they are both 8.5 x 11.

Q: Even after I offset, the overall printed values don't seem to properly fit - it almost seems shrunken or too tight, is there anything else to check?
A: Check your computer's printer settings to see if it is using Shrink to Fit vs. Custom for the scaling.
If the Shrink to Fit setting is not working, try using a Custom value of 100%.
