A user can add FOLLOW UP STATUS CODES from the PATIENT ADMIT screen,  hospital PAYMENT screen. and from PA and UNIT AUTHORIZATION screen

 

Before this feature is accessible to a user, the user has to be set up as an ASR in the STAFF table.  There also has to be a Follow Up record already on the claim created by either the Auto F/Up process in BILLING or a manual follow up has been posted from the Follow Up module.

STAFF TABLE - To add or modify a user in the STAFF table, navigate to OPTIONS>DATA TABLES and search for the STAFF person.  If there isn’t a record, this STAFF will need to be added.

Once the STAFF has been added or located, check the box for IS ACCOUNT SERVICE REP (ASR).  Do not enter in an Effective Date without discussing with the Support team as to what this controls.  Also add the LOGIN for connecting to MEDIK®.

Follow Up Option in Admissions

Navigate to POSTING>ADMISSIONS.  Look up the desired patient. Once connected to the patient record, under MOREINFO select FOLLOW-UP DATE.

The user is able to enter in the LAST WORKED DATE, NEXT REVIEW DATE, and by selecting F3 (look up), the user can look up and select a STATUS CODE. The ASR will automatically update once the record is SAVED (Save/F1).  If the user chooses to not update any information, select Cancel/F9.

Follow Up Option in Payments

Navigate to POSTING>PAYMENT>PAYMENTS-ADJUSTMENTS.  Once a patient claim is selected, navigate to MOREINFO>FOLLOW UP DATE.

The user is able to enter in the LAST WORKED DATE, NEXT REVIEW DATE, and by selecting F3 (look up), the user can look up and select a STATUS CODE.  The ASR will automatically update once the record is SAVED (Save/F1).  If the user chooses to not update any information, select Cancel/F9.

Follow Up Option in Utilization Review

Navigate to POSTING>UTILIZATION REVIEW>PA AND UNIT AUTHORIZATIONS.  Once a patient has been selected, navigate to PROCEDURES>FOLLOW UP DATE.

NOTE:  Because the authorization line From and Thru dates don’t necessarily match the claim From and Thru dates, as long as one date of service is in the authorization line, these claim(s) will display.

Once the FOLLOW UP DATE is selected, the screen to the right will display.  The user is able to enter the LAST WORKED DATE, NEXT REVIEW DATE, and by selecting F3 (look up), the user can look up and select a STATUS CODE.  The ASR will automatically update once the record is SAVED (Save/F1).  If the user chooses to not update any information, select Cancel/F9.

AR Management/Collections Follow Up Reports Screen

The Follow Up LAST REVIEW, NEXT REVIEW and STATUS CODE changes made in the PATIENT ADMIT, PAYMENT or UTILIZATION screen will update in the Follow Up module. 

Users locate the Follow Up module one of two ways.  Either navigate to POSTING>COLLECTIONS> AR MANAGEMENT/COLLECTIONS FOLLOW UP RPTSOr, REPORTS>MONTH END> AR MANAGEMENT/COLLECTIONS FOLLOW UP RPTS.

Once the FOLLOW UP menu is selected and the CALCULATE/F1 has been performed, navigate to the FOLLOW UP/F7 screen.

When the claim is selected in the Follow Up screen users will see any changes made from any location in MEDIK®.

Follow Up Reports

The last enhancement is in the Follow Up report screen.  Users will see a new check box to include the Utilization Review Notes on to the different reports.  Users have the option to choose only UR Notes, or also the notes from the Follow Up input screen.

If both type of notes are selected to print, these notes will print in one column separated by ***U/R Notes:
