DUO Mobile Activation - Provider

The DUO mobile app is used as a part of the two-factor authentication (TFA) process during the EPCS/TFA Activation, and is required each time a prescriber sends an electronic prescription for a controlled substance (the latter is to ensure that only the authorized prescriber is the sender).

Jump To Section: 

Access Identity Proofing Form

  1. Log in.
  2. Hover over the Managers tab in the navigation bar, and select Client Manager from the drop-down.
  3. Select any Client.
  4. Select Electronic Prescriptions from the Health section on the left menu.

  5. Click green Open Electronic Prescription System button.
  6. Click the Exclamation Point icon in the DoseSpot window.
  7. Click the Activate TFA link in the pop-up window.
  8. Verify the mobile number for the device you wish to use DUO Mobile for.
  9. Enter your Mobile Number.
  10. Check the Text Message Agreement checkbox.
  11. Click Send Duo Activation button.

 

Download Duo Mobile App

  1. You will receive two text messages from DUO Mobile.
  2. Click DUO Mobile App download link from the first text.
  3. Follow prompts on your phone to download and install app.
  4. Click the link in the second text once the DUO Mobile App is downloaded and installed.
  5. DoseSpot will now be listed in the DUO Mobile app.
  6. Your TFA code is the six-digit number sequence listed.

    NOTE: The Refresh arrow will generate a new code. You will need to generate a new code every time you are prompted to enter the TFA Code in the DoseSpot application.

Log in to DoseSpot

  1. The TFA Activation window will display back in the DoseSpot Application web browser.
  2. Your Reference Number should pre-populate.
  3. Input the TFA Code found in DUO Mobile app.
  4. Input your PIN.
  5. Click Save.

You are now able to electronically prescribe Controlled Substances in the system and DoseSpot.
