The system includes the following date information for prescriptions: Effective Date, Stop Date, Written Date, and Fill Date.

Effective Date

 

The Effective Date is the date the prescription is allowed to be filled by the pharmacy. This is usually the same as the Written Date. However, it is also possible to set a future Effective Date. 

The Effective Date is displayed in the Pending Rx, Active Medications, and Previous Medications lists on the Compose Rx and Med Entry tabs.  newcrop_effective_date_list.png

Stop Date

 

The Stop Date is the date the patient is to stop taking the medication as prescribed.

The Stop Date is displayed in the Pending Rx, Active Medications, and Previous Medications lists on the Compose Rx and Med Entry tabs.  newcrop_stop_date_list.png

Use the Stop Date field in the Sig Builder to set a Stop Date.

Click the Calculator icon to estimate an appropriate Stop Date based on Days Supply and Refills.

Written Date

 

The Written Date is the date the prescription is actually written. 

The Written Date is displayed in the Rx Details for Active Medications and Previous Medications on the Compose Rx and Med Entry tabs.

To access Rx Details, click the drop-down on the Edit button next to the medication, then select Detail.

Fill Date

 

The Fill Date is the date the patient picked up the prescription from the pharmacy. 

The Fill Date is displayed as a line item in Prescription History for Active Medications and Previous Medications on the Compose Rx and Med Entry tabs.

To access Prescription History, click the drop-down on the Edit button next to the medication, select Detail, then scroll down to the Prescription History section.

NOTE: Fill Date is only displayed in Prescription History when provided by the pharmacy.
