The Prefill Editor will take existing data from one location and automatically enter it into a FormLabTM form when the appropriate rules are set up.

Prefill Editor Rules:
- You can prefill from 3 places:
- From one FormLabTM form to another FormLabTM form.
- From a Patient’s Chart.
- From Patient Details.
- If you choose to prefill from a FormLabTM form that is not published, make sure that the form you are prefilling from is published before the form you are prefilling to.
- If you publish the FormLabTM form you are prefilling to before the form you are prefilling from, your prefill edits will disappear.
- The Prefill Editor only works for Text, Yes/No, Checkbox, Date, Drop-down, Number, Phone Number, Choose Multiple, Choose One, and Grid controls.
- It does not work for Display Only, Signature, Diagnosis, Medications, Allergy, Goals/Objectives, Prioritized Needs, and Calculation controls.
- When prefilling from one FormLabTM form to another FormLabTM form, you can only prefill from like controls.
- For example, if you are prefilling from a Text control, you can only prefill to another Text control.
- When prefilling from a Patient€™s Chart, you can only prefill to Text, Date, Number, Drop-down, and Grid (Text, Number, Drop-down) controls.
- When prefilling from Patient Details, you can only prefill to Text, Yes/No, Checkbox, Date, Drop-down, Number, Phone Number, Choose Multiple, Choose One, and Grid controls.

Prefill from a FormLabTM Form
- Right-click on the control > View if the control already exists or right-click on [Section] to add the control.
- Select the Prefill Editor button.
- Select Prefill From Form Lab Forms.
- Select the FormLabTM form with the field you want to prefill from
- Remember the form you are prefilling from must be published before the form you are prefilling to. This is indicated by the checkmark in the Published column.

- Select the field you want to prefill from.
- Remember if you are prefilling to a Text control, only Text controls in the selected form will appear in the list to prefill from.

- Click Ok.
- The Prefill Editor symbol should now be green.
- click Ok to save the Control.
- In the Form Designer, you should see (Prefilled) at the end of the control that you are prefilling to.
Prefill from a Patient Chart
- Right-click on the control > View if the control already exists or right-click on [Section] to add the control.
- Select the Prefill Editor button.
- Select Prefill From Other Places.
- In the Select Category drop-down menu, choose Chart.
- In the Form Name section, select Chart Demographics from the table.
- Select the field you want to prefill from.
- Depending on which control you are using, some fields may be unavailable, for all available fields use a Text control.
- Click Ok.
- The Prefill Editor symbol will now be green.
- Click Ok to save the control.
- In the Form Designer, you should see (Prefilled) at the end of the control that you are prefilling to.
Prefill from Patient Details
- Right-click on the control > View if the control already exists or right-click on [Section] to add the control.
- Select the Prefill Editor button.
- Select Prefill From Other Places.
- In the Select Category drop-down menu, choose Patient.
- In the Form Name section, select Patient Demographics from the table.
- Select the field you want to prefill from.
- Depending on which control you are using, some fields may be unavailable, for all available fields use a Text control.
- Click Ok.
- The Prefill Editor symbol should now be green.
- Click Ok to save the Control.
- In the Form Designer, you should see (Prefilled) at the end of the control that you are prefilling to.
