Overview
Some payers or policies will require that a referring physician or ordering provider's information be present on the claim. A couple of quick setting changes will allow for this information to appear on the claim in the 2310A Referring Physician Loop.
Payers Module Setting
- Go to the Payers module > Payer Rules tab.
- Change setting Include Referring Physician to the applicable option based on the payer's requirement.
- Save.
Client Module Setup
- Go to the Clients module > Medical tab.
- Complete the Referring Physician First Name, Referring Physician Last Name, and Referring Physician NPI fields.
- Click Save.
NOTE: If a client does not have these fields completed the 2310A Referring Provider Loop will not appear on the claim. The information will only appear on the claim if the payer settings indicate to send the Referring Physician information and the client has the fields completed.
