The following article will cover how users can list secondary (and tertiary) payers for a client's insurance contract inside the system.

NOTE: You do not need to create a separate contract for each Payer. The secondaries are added to the primary payer contract.

In order to list a secondary payer, the client must have active Enrollments for both payers in their Enrollments tab.

Next, on the Contracts tab, users will add the Secondary payer by clicking on the button next to the field labeled "Add'l Funding Sources". A new window will open.

In the new window labeled "Contract Billing Precedence" users can click the "Add" button to add a new Payer that billed charges can be transferred to.

Additional Payers can also be moved up or down in terms of the order that charges should be transferred.

Once the billing order (or precedence) has been set, click OK on this window to close it, and then be sure to click either Save or Save & Close on the client record to commit these changes.

Once this is completed, users will be able to transfer unpaid charge amounts to the listed secondary payers from the Claims Ledger.
