Finalize a Secondary Claim

For a claim to automatically finalize to "Next Claim," it must meet two criteria:

• There is a secondary (or tertiary) payer linked to the claim.
• There is patient responsibility on the claim's adjudication.

If a claim has "Finalize to Patient Account" in the Next Step column, but you would like to finalize the claim to the next claim, you can use the following steps.

1. If there is no secondary (or tertiary) payer on the claim, change the payers on the claim.
2. In the lower-right corner, click the Finalize button.
3. Change the Finalize to option to Next Claim (Secondary).
4. Click the Finalize Claim button to finalize to the secondary claim.

Your secondary claim will appear in the reviewing section.
