To MERGE duplicate ORGANIZATIONS or REFERRAL SOURCES, the process is the same, but the program names are different.

Navigate to TOOLS>SPECIAL PROGRAMS 

In the box type tools\orgmerge for merging duplicate ORGANIZATIONS and type in tools\refmerge for merging duplicate REFERRAL SOURCES.

To eliminate confusion, these instructions will refer to the ORGANIZATION MERGE, but the process is exactly the same for the REFERRAL SOURE. The difference is the program path above.

The MERGE ORGANIZATIONS screen will display.

The top field labeled OLD ORGANIZATION enter the number of the ORGANIZATION to be deleted. 

In the NEW ORGANIZATION, enter in the number of the ORGANIZATION to be left for use.

Enter in a file name in the OUTPUT FILE NAME field. The name is up to you. 

Once this screen is completed, select MERGE/F1 You will be given one more chance to verify your settings. If all looks correct, answer YES to this question. Remember, there isn’t any UNDO button, so be sure you are verifying your settings.

Once done, a file will be produced in M:\Med8 with the name you gave the file. This can be printed or saved for reference down the road.
