When multiple medical records are created for the same patient, they can be merged to retain a single medical record number.
- Filter for the incorrect patient record from the Admissions grid.
- Click Apply to display the patient record.
- Click the More Actions drop-down list and select Change Patient.
- Enter the Patient Name in the Change to Patient box. Click on the patient record you wish to select (this should be the first patient record listed), then click Next.
- Verify the Current Admission is the correct medical record and click Finish. This will assign the correct medical record number and the next sequential admit number.
NOTE: If the record is not correct, click Previous to search for a different patient.
