How do I set Behavior Graphs to plot a zero when there was no instance of behavior for a session?
Users are able to set Behavior Graphs to automatically plot a zero for sessions where there was no instance of the behavior instead of skipping the day. This is set in the Portal for the Student under Setup | Settings | Other Settings.
NOTE: Based on student attendance, Catalyst has the ability to add "zero" data points to select targets and behaviors. This feature can be helpful in making sure graphs are reflective of days in which the student was present, but did not exhibit any behaviors. Choose "yes" to turn this feature on.
With this setting set to Yes, on any days in which any data was scored (skill or other behavior), a zero will be plotted for behaviors and frequency targets unless otherwise indicated by the data. If no data was scored for a day, Catalyst will not plot a data point (i.e. weekends or other non-session days).
Set Zero Out Behaviors to Yes
- Select the Student from the dropdown on the Students tab.
- Select the Setup tab.
- Select the Settings subtab.
- The Student Settings screen will display.
- Scroll down to the Other Settings section.
- Set Zero Out Behaviors to Yes by clicking on the dropdown.
- Click Save at the bottom left when finished.

What is the difference between Minimum Trial Counts for Mastery and Daily Desired Trials?
See the descriptions and definitions of these two terms below.
Minimum Trial Counts for Mastery
This is the Mastery requirement that needs to be met per student in regard to the number of trials completed per Target per day. If an item does not meet the minimum trial count per day, it will be excluded from being counted towards mastery for that day.
To adjust the number of trials needed on a daily basis before an item is considered for Mastery, you can adjust it per student.
Access the Mastery Criteria subtab from the Setup tab in the Students Section.
Adjust the Minimum Number of Trials Required per Day in the Settings section.
Daily Desired Trials
Daily Desired Trials indicates the number of times the Target should run each day. As data points are collected in the Catalyst app, the Target thermometers on the left side of the screen display a Target’s progress to reach its Daily Desired Trials and show a current count.

I have set Automatic Mastery for Targets, but they aren’t Mastering Out by themselves.
Often, this is due to a low Trial Count. The following steps will walk you through how to see what the Minimum Number of Trials Required per Day is and then how to go into a Targets Raw Data and see if it is being met.
View the Minimum Number of Trials Required per Day to be sure that it is set correctly.
- Access the Mastery Criteria subtab from the Setup Tab in the Students Section.
- In the Settings section, review the Minimum Number of Trials Required per Day.
- Adjust if necessary.
Review the Raw Data for the Target in question.
- Access the Skills Acquisition tab from the Students Section.
- Locate the Target in question. Skill Area > Program > Target
- Click Actions.
- Select Raw Data.
- Make sure the Target has met the Minimum Number of Trials as indicated in the Student’s Settings.
NOTE: DTT, Jump-To, Task Analysis, and Duration Targets are the ONLY Target Types that can be Mastered Out in Catalyst. Other Target Types must be manually Mastered Out from the Targets Action menu.
If the raw data does not show that the Minimum Number of Trials is being met, either adjust the Minimum Number of Trials per Day as desired OR increase the number of Trials conducted during a session to meet the Minimum Number of Trials.
If though, the raw data shows that the Minimum Number of Trials is being met, contact Support for additional help.

What does it mean to archive an item?
Archiving is an alternative to deleting.
Archiving marks the item as inactive and removes it from your active items. Archived items can easily be referenced and/or marked as active again at any time.Â
To learn how to archive different items, see the corresponding articles below:
- Archive Skill Area
- Archive Program
- Archive Antecedent
- Archive Behavior
- Archive Consequence
- Archive Location
NOTE: Archived Targets will still show up in the Catalyst app unless you take them Out of Treatment first.
