Power BI File Retriever: Retrieving Power BI Files in eCR

  1. Now that you are setup to access the C: drive on your local computer, login to your RDP and open eCR.
  2. Once in eCR, go to Administration > Power BI File Retriever.

  3. Once the Power BI File Retriever opens, select Select Folder.

  • This allows you to connect a folder on your local computer to be able to download Power BI Files and CSV Data Files to it.
  • In the Browse For Folder window, expand This PC.

  • Expand C on Your Computer’s Name.

  • If you do not already have a folder you want to use, click on C on Your Computer’s Name then select Make New Folder.

    • Name the folder something you will remember (example: Power BI) and hit the Enter key.
  • Hit OK.

    • The file location will now populate in the field to the left of Select Folder.

  • To download the Power BI File, select Power BI File.

    • NOTE: If you have not previously downloaded the Power BI File this is a one-time download.

    • That will now download, displaying a progress bar and percentage.

    • It will display Download Completed when it is finished.

  • Once that is completed, click on Data Files to download the CSV data files.

    • NOTE: If you want to work with the latest data from you eCR system, these files should be downloaded.

    • That will now download, displaying a progress bar and percentage.

    • It will display Download Completed when it is finished.

    • Once that is done downloading, the Power BI File and CSV Data Files will now appear in the previously selected file location (this is on your local computer).
